Y3 Mrs. Milfull

Welcome back to school, everyone!
I hope you are all looking forward to joining us again in school on Monday.
Here is some information that you and your grown-ups need to be aware of about coming back to school.
On Monday 8th March, you will need to bring your PE kit for outdoor PE.  The focus for Mondays is orienteering and the children will be outdoors for this.  Our class will also have a PE session on a Tuesday. Again, the PE kit needed will be the outdoor kit.  The PE kit can stay in school on Monday evening if you wish. This extra Tuesday session will only run until the Easter holidays.
The design technology vehicles that the children have been making should be brought into school on Monday 8th March.  This is so that we can group the children according to who has done what.
I also asked the children to bring sticks, twigs and leaves into school week commencing the 8th, to work with for our art project on sculpture.  These can be brought into school on Thursday 11th March, ready for our art lesson on that day.
Finally, you may be wondering about forest school. I am pleased to tell you that the whole class will be able to take part in forest school on Fridays after Easter.  More details on this to follow, nearer the time.
Thank you all for your hard work over this period of remote learning.  I have been really impressed with the work I have received via email, and really appreciate everything that you and your families have achieved.

Welcome to the Class 3M webpage!
This year we will be working on lots of new and exciting topics, alongside our friends in the Year 2 and Year 2/3 classes.
In the Autumn term we will learn about what schools were like in the past, and then do an in-depth study on the country of China, its people, places and wildlife.
In the Spring term, we will focus on RE, finding out about sacred books and places, and why it matters to care for our world. Then we will do a design technology project based on books we are reading in our literacy lessons.
In Summer, we will study an ancient civilisation, then focus on volcanoes and earthquakes around the world, the reasons they happen, and their impact.
We are finding out about different parts of speech (word classes), such as verbs, adjectives and conjunctions, and learning how to use these effectively to become the best writers that we can be.
Throughout the year we will focus on improving our reading skills – this is really important both at home and at school. Being familiar with words and books supports all the work we do in literacy.
Finally, our community project is Guide Dogs for the Blind. We will find out about how we can support this charity, and learn about the ways the charity helps visually impaired people in our community.
