Well there goes another week of lockdown. Well done to all of those children (and parents) who have managed to work through the homework set by your teachers. It has been lovely to see some of the amazing work you have produced. Well done to Imogen M for her fantastic Powerpoint presentation on the history of Guide Dogs and to Alice H’s very full home learning book. What a beautiful week to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The sun is shining and the weather is just right for having your own VE Day picnic in your garden. Remember to decorate your garden with Union Jack flags and bunting;  bake your own cakes and scones; sing to some old wartime songs and remember how that generation celebrated when the fighting ended and peace came to the world again. Don’t forget to look again on Monday for your new home learning homework. But make sure you spend plenty of time outside in the fresh air away from screens. Remember our world will return to normal again one day. And to echo the words of the Queen and the wartime force’s sweetheart, Vera Lynn, “We’ll meet again.”
