Rook’s Nest Academy Mini Newsletter
Issue 2 – March 2020
Dear parents:
I hope you are all coping with this unusual situation we find ourselves in. We think we have now managed to ensure that only those children whose parents are critical to the covid 19 response are accessing the Academy. Myself and the staff would like to thank all the parents who have taken the necessary measures to manage their childcare needs and keep their children safe. You are doing a great job as emergency teachers but please keep checking the website as we are putting more information about activities and links you can access. Stay safe all of you.
Dear children:
Hi kids,
Wow what a week. I hope you have all been getting up to do the Joe Wicks work out – he is a little crazy. We have all been exercising at the Academy. The lessons for us are continuing we had daffodil dissection with Mr Morrell, Orienteering with Ms Fletcher, Mad Maths chalking with Mrs Milfull and today Ms Carter is going to be getting creative with rainbows. There are lots of things for you to do on the website but if you get bored of those I have a few suggestions.
Firstly, if you have not already created a rainbow picture and stuck it in your window then that would be a wonderful thing to do to make people smile when they see it.
Secondly, I don’t know if you have noticed but the wildlife numbers seem to have exploded. The birds especially seem to be loving the fact that it is so quiet and so very few cars on the road. Why don’t we try to keep a record of all the different species and numbers of birds we spot from our gardens or through windows and I will speak to Mr Williams to see if we can set a blog competition.
Finally, please try to remember the techniques that Lindsay has taught some of you in yoga. This would be a great time to be using a few moves.
Take care everyone and I will back in touch with you next week.
Ms Dawson
