Whilst legally a child under 13 should not be using Instagram, we understand that many students will still be allowed, by parents, to do so. If you are a parent of a child using Instagram please pay particular attention to the security settings they use as your child will probably not be able to understand the complexities involved and may be putting themselves at risk.
Have regular conversations about social media and the internet to keep in touch with what your child may be experiencing.
Make sure their account is set to private and be aware that even with this setting, they could still be receiving messages from strangers.
