Dear parent/carers,
After much discussion and consideration, we have made the decision to close the Academy for tomorrow 15/1/21 due to the extreme weather conditions and forecast for the morning. Very few teaching staff work within a walking radius from the school and the road conditions they are describing currently would make their journey potentially treacherous with the ice that is expected to follow overnight. Many staff have had either 4hr drives, needed to abandon their cars mid-way through their journey or leave their cars at school and walk. We know that you are keyworkers and that is why I am trying to give as much notice to you as possible. Home learning will be available for your children. Please be advised that the closure is also in respect of before and after school clubs.
